The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for improving the production flow, efficiency, quality, and cost performance of the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce and building internal capability in structured problem-solving and continuous improvement practices while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for improving the production flow, efficiency, quality, and cost performance of the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce and building internal capability in structured problem-solving and continuous improvement practices while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
What you'll do:
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes, workflow, equipment utilization, and plant layout to enhance overall efficiency and throughput.
- Develop and maintain clear, standardized work instructions and process documentation to ensure repeatability and consistency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen activities and value stream mapping, to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Train and coach supervisors and production team members on Lean principles, structured problem-solving, and continuous improvement practices.
- Support quality and process validation efforts to ensure reliable and compliant manufacturing operations.
- Utilize data and performance metrics to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, and leadership to execute improvement priorities.
- Assist other areas as needed.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a relevant manufacturing engineering or process improvement role.
- Experience using CAD or CAM software preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement principles.
- Experience with workflow analysis, time studies, and process optimization.
- Ability to lead improvement initiatives and influence teams in a production environment.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.
